Carla has demonstrated extraordinary leadership, compassion, dedication through over 7,500+ volunteer hours supporting military and civilian initiatives across National Capital Region ( NCR) . exemplifies the core values of service, sacrifice, and selflessness.
Last year, Carla served in a variety of
roles, delivering direct support to Servicemembers, veterans, civilians, and their families while fostering
strong community ties throughout the National Capital Region.
Carla's volunteer efforts are rooted in big-hearted concern and a deep commitment to our
military, retiree, and veteran communities. Carla's volunteer work has contributed to over 500 hours of volunteerism and community service every year. Carla worked alongside National Capital Region (NCR) staff and volunteers, Operation Homefront, local VFWs, Blue Star Families, and the JBM-HH Army Community Service (ACS) Volunteer Association to provide crucial support to military and veteran families in need.
She collected school supplies for backpack distributions, coordinated and volunteered for family and holiday
programs, special events, and organized community engagements such as Mother's Day luncheons, Father and Daughter dances, unit get togethers, and other special events. She delivered hot prepared meals for those working during the holidays and sent care packages to those that are deployed to boost morale and to ensure essential supplies were provided.
Her continuous contributions to school
supplies drives, holiday events toys, school age books distribution, donated food, and gift drives supported countless NCR Servicemembers,
veterans, and families through the year. Carla provided 1,200 hot meals over a 10-day period to military personnel, federal employees, and their families who were affected by the recent furlough. Carla coordinated efforts with community partnerships such as World Central Kitchen to ensure that hot meals were delivered to military, veteran, and civilian communities making direct impacts during such difficult times
