Glenn Nieradka is an ideal candidate for Veteran of the Year® due to his exceptional combination of military service, athletic excellence, and sustained, high-impact leadership in veteran reintegration.
Glenn is a decorated Army veteran who served as an Army Ranger and Special Forces Soldier, bringing a deep sense of discipline, resilience, and mission focus to every role he has held. Before his military service and professional career in veteran advocacy, he was a standout collegiate and elite-level wrestler—an All-American, two-time national champion, and competitor at the 2004 U.S. Olympic Team Trials—demonstrating world-class performance, perseverance, and leadership under pressure.
In his current role with Hire Heroes USA, Glenn has made a measurable and lasting impact on homeless and at-risk veterans across Colorado. He successfully transitioned from managing the Homeless Veteran Reintegration Program (HVRP) to a broader Field Team leadership role, where he continued to deliver high-quality services even during funding pauses and operational constraints. His leadership ensured continuity of care for veterans through innovative, often virtual service delivery models.
Glenn has strengthened regional systems of support by securing membership in the Teller County Veteran Task Force, coordinating Stand Down events for homeless veterans, and helping distribute critical resources such as hygiene kits and employment workshops. He has built and sustained over 50 cross-sector partnerships with organizations, including workforce boards, housing providers, VA representatives, and community nonprofits, significantly expanding access to services.
He is also a published thought leader, authoring articles on justice-involved veterans and homelessness that elevate national understanding of systemic barriers and promote second-chance employment opportunities. Internally, his mentorship has directly contributed to staff recognition and program excellence.
Glenn’s unique blend of elite military service, championship athletic achievement, and proven community impact makes him an outstanding candidate whose work continues to transform outcomes for veterans and strengthen communities statewide.
