As a veteran and Program Manager with Hire Heroes USA, he has made a measurable impact on homeless and at-risk veterans across North Carolina through strategic partnerships, advocacy, and innovative service delivery.
David currently serves as a North Carolina 4th District Veteran Affairs Board Member, where he conducts ROTC interviews and evaluates U.S. Service Academy candidates—mentoring and shaping the next generation of military leaders.
Professionally, David has demonstrated exceptional leadership in advancing the Homeless Veteran Reintegration Program (HVRP). He has built and strengthened partnerships with organizations such as Advance Community Health, Wilmington Street Clinic, The Joel Fund, and Oak City Cares, expanding access to healthcare, employment support, and essential resources. He spearheaded a Veterans Day initiative that increased healthcare access and helped establish a dedicated veterans support group to address long-term needs beyond traditional systems.
A committed advocate, David has elevated public awareness of veteran challenges through impactful thought leadership on mental health, food insecurity, and systemic barriers. He has represented Hire Heroes USA at key forums, including the North Carolina Governor’s Working Group, while actively leading workshops and participating in career fairs—driving meaningful cross-sector collaboration and solutions.
Through data-informed programming, David has directly supported dozens of veterans, improving employment readiness and access to critical services. He has also coordinated the provision of clothing, hygiene items, and other essential resources to ensure veterans have the support needed to stabilize and succeed in their transition.
