The successful transition from the Army for myself and my family was a personal accomplishment that really shaped who I am today and brings purpose in my role as a supporter of transitioning Soldiers and their families. I included my family in the decision process during our transition, and I feel that was the key to our success. My wife is very well established in our community. My oldest son, Jack, has a full-time job, his own truck, and is very successful at the young age of 21. My youngest son, Joey, just completed his first year at Western Kentucky University and is a big part of the soccer community in our county. Our transition set the conditions for both mine and their success, and I feel it is my duty to pay that forward to those that are transitioning now to help them find their own definition of success.
I retired from the Army in 2017 after serving for 27 years. During that time, I served in many challenging positions, deployed to Bosnia, Afghanistan, and Iraq, and attained the rank of First Sergeant. Since retiring, I have been a contractor supporting the Army Transition Assistance Program (TAP) from the Program Management Office at Fort Knox, KY. I provide products, resources, networking, and other information to our team of counselors at Installations all over the world to support transitioning Soldiers and their families. My current employer is Choctaw Premier Services.
