Frederick Alcazar is an ideal candidate for the Veteran of the Year® or Vetrepreneur® of the Year (VOY) Award due to his exceptional entrepreneurial journey, commitment to youth development, and dedication to serving his community as a United States Air Force veteran. Following his military service, Fredrick recognized his passion for youth sports performance training and transformed a garage-based fitness operation into Czar Athletics, a thriving sports performance center.
Starting with just four student-athletes in June 2020, Fredrick’s dedication and expertise allowed him to grow the program to 78 clients by May 2021. This impressive expansion led him and his wife, Heather, to seek a larger facility, prompting their engagement with the Oklahoma Small Business Development Center (SBDC) for guidance. With the support of Business Advisor Larry Siebert, they navigated financial projections and ultimately decided to build their own facility.
Despite encountering numerous challenges during the construction process, including securing a construction loan, Frederick's determination paid off. By the time construction began in September 2022, Czar Athletics had grown to 197 athletes, and they officially opened their new facility on June 4, 2023. As of October 2023, the center has soared to serve 380 athletes, showcasing Frederick's commitment to fostering athletic excellence in the community.
Fredrick's success story illustrates not only his entrepreneurial acumen but also his dedication to mentoring young athletes. His ability to overcome obstacles and build a resource-rich environment demonstrates the kind of leadership and resilience that inspires others.
Frederick Alcazar's journey from military service to successful entrepreneur, along with his unwavering commitment to youth development and community engagement, makes him a deserving recipient of the VOY Award, celebrating the positive impact that veterans can make in their communities.
CZAR Athletics
Heather has been the most influential person in my life, shaping me into a better man, father, and leader. Her unwavering resilience, patience, and ability to navigate life’s challenges—especially dealing with me—have taught me invaluable lessons. She’s helped me recognize the power of my words, how they can uplift or impact those around me, and has guided me toward becoming a more thoughtful communicator. Beyond that, Heather gave me the courage to pursue CZAR Athletics, believing in me when I doubted myself. She is the smartest, hardest-working person I know, leading by example and inspiring me daily. Her strength, determination, and wisdom continue to shape my journey, and even now, I’m still learning from her. I owe so much to her support, and CZAR Athletics wouldn’t exist without the foundation she helped build. She is my greatest partner in life—personally and professionally.
