I graduated college at the age of 42. As a non-traditional student, I understand the difficulties of transitioning from the military to civilian life and the uncertainties of beginning a college journey. I hold a deep passion for my work at Shawnee State University. Veterans are often unsure about what education benefits they have earned and what those benefits entail. I take great pride in taking my experience and passing that along to others to make the transition as seamless as possible for them. My wife is a retired veteran, so I understand the challenges of being a military spouse as well. I am proud of all her accomplishments, and I thank her for her support. I am honored to be in the running for this award.
