My family is the very foundation of who I am. They have been with me through all the military deployments, PTSD battles, injuries and illnesses I have had due to military service. My friends help keep me grounded with encouragement, support, and simple friendship. Both these groups drive me to be the best man I can be. I am honored by their presence in my life and strive to make them proud of our work together.
Sergeant First Class Todd Carpenter joined the Army right out of Travelers Rest High School here in Greenville County, in 1981. After a tour with the 11th Cavalry in Germany, I was then transferred to the 1st Cavalry at Fort Hood, Texas. I then reenlisted to attend Special Forces Training at Fort Bragg, NC. During this time, my units deployed many times to South America and the Caribbean assisting Host Nation Forces and working with the DEA, FBI, CIA, and Border Patrol agencies in the war on drugs and child abduction operations.
