I am writing to nominate Brooke Bailey for the esteemed Military Friendly Veteran of the Year award. Brooke has distinguished herself as an exemplary employee and veteran, embodying the values of dedication, leadership, and service. In 2013, Sgt. Brooke Bailey was named Indiana Army National Guard's recruiter of the year and the first female recruiter to be awarded the Chief's 54 (the award for Indiana's top recruiter)
Brooke has been a vital member of the Roche team since 2020, working as a Consultant in Order Fulfillment at Roche Point of Care and Pathology. With her outstanding knowledge of the Order Fulfillment process, Brooke has consistently demonstrated her ability to resolve customer issues effectively, collaborating seamlessly with our Sales colleagues and internal partners. Her commitment to excellence has made a significant impact on the efficiency and success of our department.
In addition to her technical expertise, Brooke shows a remarkable passion for onboarding and mentoring new team members. She has driven meaningful improvements to the new hire training process, ensuring that newcomers are well-prepared and smoothly integrated into the team. Her efforts have fostered a supportive and growth-oriented environment, benefiting both new hires and the overall team.
Brooke's service extends beyond her professional achievements at Roche. Since 2008, she has dutifully served in the Indiana Army National Guard, exemplifying the qualities of bravery, dedication, and resilience. Her military background has enhanced her leadership skills and reinforced her strong work ethic, contributing to her success in both her civilian and military roles.
It seems as though personal accomplishments, family & friends, and hobbies & interests are all wrapped up in one for me. I am the most proud of my daughters and their tenaciousness. We don't have a fairytale story, but we have made the most of the hand we were dealt. I was driven to change that and to write my own story. I became a young, single mother at the age of 19, and with my grandmothers support, I was able to find the will to figure it out. Sacrifice and compromise have all proven worthy as my oldest daughter is now a 2025 Summa Cum Laude graduate of Noblesville High School and a direct admit to the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University Bloomington, where she will continue her softball career. It is astounding what we are capable of when we shift our mindset. He who says he can and he who says he can't are both correct. I feel very proud and blessed to have the opportunity to serve serve and lead.
I have served in the Indiana Army National Guard since 2008 with a growing passion for the training environment. I have trained and prepared young men and women for Basic Combat Training readiness and their job training. I get to bear true witness to the difference made by simply showing up and being in someones' corner. I was selected as the Chiefs 54 of Indiana and furthermore, the National Recruiter of the Year in 2013. My innate passion for Soldier development organically drove me to those successes. I stepped away from the Active Guard Reserve program so that I could better serve my daughters and family. I have been with Roche Diagnostics since 2019 and am still filling my cup through mentorship and training all whilst still drilling with the Indiana Army National Guard until 2029 when I will have completed 20 years of service.
