Over the course of his distinguished career, BG Turner commanded at the Battery, Battalion, and Brigade levels. He served in a variety of key staff roles, including as Battalion Executive Officer and Operations Officer with the 25th Infantry Division Artillery. Beyond his key staff roles, he also had assignments included but not limited to being the Personnel Assignment Officer at the U.S. Army Personnel Command, Special Assistant to the Chief of Staff of the Army, Executive Officer to the Vice Chief of Staff of the Army, Chief of the Vice Chief of Staff of the Army Initiatives Group, and the 51st Commandant of the United States Army Field Artillery School, where he served as the Chief of Field Artillery.
BG(R) Turner’s carrier included being the Deputy Commanding General of the 1st Infantry Division at numerous global assignments, with duties in Germany, Iraq, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, and Korea.
